Hawaii Prep’s girls soccer team came up one game short of a state championship for a second year in a row, falling to Mid-Pacific again.
Ka Makani (12-2-2) lost 2-0 to Mid-Pacific on Saturday in the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II championship game at Oahu’s Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.
Julie Khil gave Mid-Pacific (7-7-1) the lead in the 30th minute off a Jenna Richards assist. Taylor Higa added aninsurance goal in the 36th minute off a Khil assist.

Makua Lani 2, Radford 2:Tiffany Nakamura scored two goals in less than a minute, and the Lions (6-9-1) fought back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to claim a tie for fifth place.
Nakamura’s first goal came in the 43rd minute off an assist from Hannah Shimizu. She scored from 12 yards out on the right side.
About a minute later, Lauren Mabuni found Nakamura on the left side, and Nakamura delivered again. This time, her goal came from 15 yards out on a left-footed shot.
Lydia Wood was Makua Lani’s keeper. She made some “unbelievable saves,” coach John Edwards said. Abigail Granger scored both goals for Radford (5-9-2).

Kamehameha-Hawaii 3, Honokaa 0:Tiffany Pacheco opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and Kekai Yuen added goals in the 24th and 58th minutes in the seventh-place game.
The Warrriors finished 11-5, while the Dragons head home 7-7-1.
Division I
Konawaena 0, Kamehameha-Maui 0:Konawaena finished the year tied for fifth place with the draw. The Wildcats finished the season with a 13-2-2 record.
KS-Maui finished 14-3-1.
Kealakehe 3, King Kekaulike 3:The Waveriders scored two goals in the second half, including Jade Richmond’s tally in the 79th minute, to tie for seventh place. Lexie Cuaresma scored twice for the Waveriders (11-2-3).
Kayela Santiago scored twice for King Kekaulike (11-3-3), and Mahina Ashdown-Deponte scored once.
